walther p38
A 9×19mm semi-automatic handgun that was developed by Carl Walther GmbH for Wehrmacht service at the beginning of World War II, introduced in 1939. It was intended to replace the costly and primitive Luger P08. The Walther P38 is recognizable by its short, open-top slide that exposes the barrel and a rounded trigger guard. The mechanism itself influenced many modern handguns, such as the Beretta 92.
