tank man

無名の反逆者

An infamous photograph showing an unidentified man blocking four Type 59 tanks on June 5, 1989, the day after the Chinese communist government had suppressed the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989 by force.

The uncropped image shows that a lot more tanks were driving in his path, while the video version shows the man intentionally walked in front of the tank column and around it, seemingly out of defiance. The final fate of the man himself, however, is unknown.
