super gt
A Japanese grand touring racing series, originally launched in 1993 as the Zen Nihon GT Senshuken (aka All Japan Grand Touring Car Championship).
There are two classes of racecar in Super GT, GT500 and GT300. The GT500 class is comprised of manufacturer supported teams from Toyota, Nissan, and Honda with purpose-built racecars loosely based on production vehicles featuring performance rivaling non-hybrid Le Mans Prototypes and largely equivalent to the Class 1 cars from DTM. GT300 is a more mixed class, featuring FIA GT3 spec vehicles from foreign manufacturers alongside Super GT's own JAF-GT spec vehicles.
Super GT is notable for being one of the few remaining major motorsport series to feature race queens.
