More properly known as St. Andrew's Saltire, St. Andrew being the patron saint of Scotland, who was crucified on a saltire (X-shaped cross) rather than conventional cross. It consists of a white saltire centered on a blue field. The English Flag, Scottish Flag and St. Patrick's Saltire are combined to form the Union Jack, the flag of the United Kingdom.
