Der Königgräzer or Der Königgräzer Marsch is one the most recognisable songs in German history. The song is about the Battle of Königgrätz which was fought between the Austrian Empire and the Prussian Empire which ended in a Prussian victory.

The song became more well known due to Adolf Hitler using the song during his rallies before and after coming into power. After World War II the song was not used for a time until around 1955 when the West German military was reformed.

Der Königgräzer Marsh was originally composed in 1866, a long time before it was ever associated with the Nazi’s and their ideology. The song is still being used today by the German military.
