head-mounted display
A display device which completely covers the eyes and is not transparent, often divided by a thin horizontal strip in the middle. It doesn't need to be used for virtual reality, but odds are that the visor displays some sort of visual or tactical image to the user. Otherwise they'd just wear glasses.
Often seen used by mecha or scifi fightercraft pilots or for use with training simulators, or for characters wearing VR visors.
