Haruna (榛名, named after Mount Haruna) is the third of the four Kongou-class battleships in Kantai Collection.
Though Haruna and Kirishima were completed on the same day, Haruna is generally considered to have been the third ship of the class due to having been laid down one day earlier.

Appearance
All of the Kongou-class wear a modified miko uniform with differently colored hakama skirts and thigh boots. They also wear the same signature winged hairband.
Haruna herself has long black or grey hair (with an often forgotten hairclip) and a red hakama skirt. She refers to herself in the 3rd person and has a warm, humble personality. Unique to her Kai-ni, Haruna has AA guns attached to her boots and cannons painted with dazzle camouflage stripes.

After her second remodel was revealed, artists began to draw Haruna with panties striped like her dazzle camouflage. Interestingly enough, her canon panties does actually feature vertical stripes.
Seasonal Outfits
Haruna has so far received two seasonal/tie-in CGs in-game. She first received a swimsuit CG, based on the Ichiban Kuji figure in which she wore a white bikini. Within the game, however, the swimsuit is covered by a white hooded sweater and white sarong unless she is damaged. Her second alternate CG was for the mitsukoshi tie-in; in which she wears a white jacket, black shirt, long grey skirt, black pantyhose, and black boots. In her shopping CG, she also wears an anchor necklace.
Her famous line "Haruna is alright!" has earned her the nickname "daijoubu".
