claymore (mine)
A remote-detonated directional anti-personnel mine. It operates by detonating a layer of explosive material behind several hundred steel balls, creating a shotgun effect in the direction it is aimed.
The most common form is the M18A1 used by the U.S. military, though many countries around the world use similar weapons.
