Appearance
Her base form portrays her with long black hair with cat ears (and matching cat tail), tied two side up. She wears a white serafuku with black sailor collar, a black skirt, a pink print coat, red wristbands with jingle bells, and white thighhighs.
Her rig is minimal, only possessing a 61 cm triple torpedo mount to her back, reload torpedoes tucked in her coat, and a 12.7 cm twin mount Type B as a handgun.
Upon retrofit, her serafuku changes to a midriff while her coat changes to a longer form colored white with a cherry blossom print. Her skirt also gains a side slit. She is also shown with a katana while her rig changes to a more mechanical form wielding two 12.7 twin gun mounts and a single 61 cm triple torpedo mount.

The historical Yuugure was the sixth and last of the Hatsuharu-class, built to an "improved design" that was meant to remedy the chronic stability issues of the first four Hatsuharus. Aside from lowered superstructures and a revised weapons suite, she and her sister ship Ariake were the first destroyers fitted with the 12.7 cm twin Type C mounts as used by the succeeding Shiratsuyu, Asashio, and Kagerou classes. In addition, they both received two rudders, one aft of each propeller, in an attempt to reduce severe heeling at turns, only to have them removed after their trials in 1935 as the same design changes made the use of twin rudders redundant.
Assigned to DesDiv 27 alongside Ariake, Shiratsuyu and Shigure, they escorted the Second Carrier Division (Hiryuu and Souryuu) in raids on Rabaul and Darwin. They repeated the same task for the Fifth CarDiv (Shoukaku and Zuikaku) in the battle of the Coral Sea.
Seeing further action in the Guadalcanal and Solomon Islands campaigns, she was sunk by a US airstrike just a week after the battle of Kolombangara in July 1943, with Kiyonami taking her survivors, only for Kiyonami herself to be sunk in the same way with all of Yuugure's survivors.
