Edit
Yukikaze (雪風, "Snowy Wind") is the eighth ship of the Kagerou-class Destroyers in Kantai Collection.
Character design by Shizuma Yoshinori, voiced by Fujita Saki.
Appearance
She has short brown hair, brown eyes, and wears a very short white and blue button-up sailor dress with a yellow neckerchief, black socks, and high-heeled rudder footwear. She carries several pieces of equipment, including a quadruple torpedo launcher worn like a backpack, a twin-barreled cannon turret in a case hanging purse-like from her shoulder, and a pair of binoculars around her neck. Her headgear consists of two airhorn-like fixtures and her namesake's fire control director, with the former on either side of her head and the latter on top, slightly to the back. Additionally, she has a vintage radio headset with the mouthpiece of an antiquated speaking tube in place of the usual microphone.
Her first genuine seasonal CG was released with the 18th July 2019 update as her summer CG. She is wearing a hoodie over a school swimsuit (with her name written on it on the name tag) along with rudder sandals. She is carrying a yellow bag with her binoculars inside with a torpedo charm (made with real torpedoes?) hooked on it. Upon being damaged, she simply appears wet while her binoculars and two of her torpedoes are missing.
Her second seasonal CG was released with the 8th August 2019 update and is the summer CG for her first remodel, the previous now being limited to her unremodelled self. She now wears a white sundress with blue backing and a navy blue ribbon. On her feet is a pair of fancier rudder sandals. Along with this, she wears a sun hat with a flower, a large ribbon and the airhorn-like fixtures attached to it. Meanwhile, she has three torpedoes hanging off her right thigh and her gun in a sheath made of woven straw and leather, the "top" (corresponds to the back of her gun) appears to have ner name written on it. Upon being damaged she is kneeling while a major part of her dress has been burned away, revealing she is wearing a bikini bottom underneath. Upon her nominal second remodel, she wears a short version of the sundress.
In-game, she had the highest luck of the game (50, or 60 when upgraded) up until the release of Warspite. This stems from having survived many battles with rarely more than minor damage and having survived the post-war era for many years afterwards in the service of the ROC (Taiwan) Navy as the Tan Yang (or Danyang). It was only in 1970 that she was scrapped. However, during her time in the IJN she gained the nickname "Shinigami" due to the fact the bigger ships she escorted rarely survived (Hiei being a particularly infamous example).
Yukikaze later gets two remodels, Tan Yang and Yukikaze Kai Ni
Related characters and trivia
She is often shown together with other shipgirls due to shared associations, traits, and historical events. Some of the more frequent ones include Shimakaze, Amatsukaze, and Tokitsukaze (All were drawn by the same artist; all three are her division-mates, and Shimakaze has an equally high Evasion stat), as well as Hatsukaze (sister ship and division-mate with a different design), Shigure (another "lucky ship"), Hiei (a particularly tragic "victim" of Yukikaze's luck) and other participants in Operation Ten-Go (most notably Hatsushimo, a fellow survivor of the operation).
She is often compared to some sort of rodent (usually a hamster or a beaver) due to the prominent upper teeth seen in her official art.
