Edit
(Named after the city of Danyang, today in Jiangsu province.)
Yukikaze after being transferred to the Republic of China (who now currently control the island of Taiwan), as depicted in Kantai Collection. Can also be written "Danyang" (same, but in Hanyu Pinyin instead of Wade-Giles). The game officially uses the Hanyu Pinyin romanization, but the Wade-Giles one is used here for historical reasons as well as the tendency for Taiwanese to shun the mainland-formulated Pinyin.
Appearance
Yukikaze officially became Tan Yang as sort of her "stepping stone" remodel in the game on November 13, 2020 (a Friday). She wears a red sailor shirt with a grey sailor collar and brown neckerchief over a white stylized china dress. She wears more modernized communications headgear and dual-anchor hairclips (which are miniature versions of the ROC Navy emblem) and sports machinery which includes Type 89 12.7 cm/40 dual mounted guns as well as new Taiwanese weapons due to the ROC Navy having no access to the original Japanese armaments. Her rudder boots sport the number 12, in reference to her new hull number DD-12. Noticeable immediately is that Tan Yang dresses more conservatively with a slightly longer dress compared to either Yukikaze in base form or in her official second remodel.
Pre-release speculations
Even before Yukikaze's eventual Taiwanese remodel was officially included into the game, some fan artists had already recognized Yukikaze's fate and in the process presented their own versions of Tan Yang, either through original remodels, mere associations with Taiwan, or juxtapositions with anything vaguely Chinese in general like in dress, AceA4 being one prominent example.
