A dress that is naturally designed with a low and wide-cut neckline, not covering the shoulders or upper chest area, leaving them bare.
Off-shoulder dresses are meant to emphasize and accentuate the wearer's shoulders, collarbone, and neck (or nape), with the sleeves of an off-shoulder dress sitting on the upper arms instead of on top of the shoulders.
For the dress to qualify for this tag: The sleeves must be attached to the dress. If they are not, then it is a strapless dress with detached sleeves.
Do not use this tag if a jacket or coat worn along with a dress is worn hanging off the arms, but the dress itself does not fit the above criteria that qualifies it as an off-shoulder dress. Those should be tagged as off shoulder instead.
Off-shoulder dresses, strapless dresses, and sleeveless dresses are mutually exclusive to each other. Off-shoulder dress is also mutually exclusive to single-shoulder dress.
This tag implicates dress and off_shoulder (learn more).
