An epic high fantasy novel written by J. R. R. Tolkien, sequel to The Hobbit and The Silmarillion. Received a trilogy movie adaptaion directed by Peter Jackson between 2001 - 2003, which were considered to be one of the best movie trilogy ever made.
The Lord of the Rings is also one of the most influrential fantasy fictional work, as several elements from the novel (and movie to an extent) such as characteristic of the orcs and elves were later adapted into other subsequent fantasy media works.
